The EAR Foundation of Arizona is proud to sponsor several programs for persons with hearing losses and for the detection of hearing loss.
For Ashley Kempton, the EAR Foundation has been a life changing program. “When I was born, I failed the required newborn screen,” Kempton says. “My parents were referred to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for additional testing. Upon follow-up with an audiologist, it was determined that I am profoundly deaf.”
Kempton’s parents were not able to afford the hearing aids needed and their insurance wouldn’t pay for it, so they turned to the EAR Foundation.
“The HEAR for Kids program, through the EAR Foundation of Arizona, provided without cost the loaner hearing aids I needed in order to hear,” says Kempton. “Without the EAR Foundation I would have fallen behind my peers.”
