Programs to Enhance the Everyday Sounds of
Living
The EAR Foundation of Arizona is proud to sponsor several programs
for persons with hearing losses and for the detection of hearing loss. You can
read about these programs by clicking on the links on the left-hand side of
this page.
To-date, the majority of our funded programs have focused on children.
Thanks to the generosity of St. Luke's Health Initiatives, Phoenix, The EAR
Foundation of Arizona will continue the Hear For Kids program, now in its
third year. Additionally, through a multi-year contract with the Arizona
Department of Health Services (ADHS), The EAR Foundation of Arizona will
also continue to work in the area of newborn hearing screening and will seek
mandatory hospital screening of all infants born in Arizona's hospitals. This
project will be pursued in a consortium with other agencies and organizations
under the sponsorship of ADHS.
We are also very pleased to introduce our Web Site, also funded by St.
Luke's Health Initiatives, Phoenix. As our newest program, we will strive to
keep our Web Site informative and timely. We invite you to submit your
questions and comments by e-mailing us at
melissa@earfoundationaz.com.
Our "2001 Guide for Medical Professionals," produced and
published through a grant from St. Luke's Health Initiatives, is a timely
resource for health care professionals. Please note that this guide can be
downloaded from our Web Site.
Through regular planning sessions, the Board of Directors, administrative
staff and affiliated clinical staff of The EAR Foundation of Arizona
identify important developments related to new technologies, demographic trends
and socio-economic trends. We also meet with hearing aid representatives,
academicians, clinicians and researchers to learn about developments on the
horizon. We develop strategic plans and grant proposals for the purpose of
translating trends and visions into useful and beneficial programs and
services.
In the coming year, we hope to implement new programs to prevent hearing
loss in adolescents and to assist adults with hearing losses. We will keep you apprised
of new programs as they are introduced. We will also add new clinical audiology
consultants to our team to enable The EAR Foundation of Arizona to
expand the depth and breadth of our programs. We truly appreciate your interest
and support.
